# Approval Modes

> Understand the joint and one-party approval models for Interchange settlement.

## Joint Approval

Also called Joint Control. Both client and trading venue have joint control on the settlement. The trading venue submits the instruction and the client authorises it.

## One-Party Approval (Client or Venue)

Client or trading venue have full control on the settlement.

The client and trading venue can mutually agree to change the approval mode at any time.
